07/08 Destination Run – Oakland Redwoods

We’re switching up our regular Sunday run location on July 8th and heading over to Oakland to get a course preview of the Urban Coyote Oakland Redwoods 5K/10K/Half course.

If you’ve never run on trails, or want to preview the course, here’s the chance to do it in a no pressure setting.

We’re going to run for an hour, so thirty minutes on the trails with a double-back to the start location. A water bottle and/or nutrition is recommended.

06/24 Sunday Run + Sports Basement Brunch

We will be finishing our Sunday June 24 run at Sports Basement Mason Street. Normal start time, normal routes, just drive/jog on over to SB when done.

SB will be hosting a brunch with the standard spread (coffee, bagel, OJ), offering us a 20% store wide discount with no obligation to buy, AND raffling off a tank, socks, and hats.

02/04 Sunday Run Cancelled: Kaiser Permanente Half and 5K

GGRC’s regular Sunday 10AM run at the Warming Hut (Crissy Field) on Feb-04 will be cancelled as we will be participating in our first target race of the year, the Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon and 5k.

If you are not running, feel free to join us at the finish line where we will have a dedicated GGRC meetup area.  Look for our banner, and come hang out.

Regularly Scheduled Runs

Join GGRC weekly for the following regularly-scheduled runs:

Wednesday @ 7pm | Kezar Stadium [ map ]

Join us for speed work! We meet halfway down the home stretch – or, at the East entrance of Kezar, when the track is closed.  Anyone can get faster and stronger through regular speed work, whether they are a novice or a former collegiate runner.  All workouts include a warm-up and cool-down.  Many runners meet for dinner and a drink after the cool-down.

Sunday Run
Sunday @ 10am | Warming Hut (Crissy Field) [ map ]

There are a variety of trail and road options available at Sunday Run.  You are likely to find GGRC’ers running distances ranging from 4-20 miles at paces ranging from 7-10 minute miles.  The club gathers between 10:00 and 10:10 to discuss routes and pace (including matching new runners with appropriate running buddies) and leaves the Warming Hut by 10:15.

Driving directions: Follow Marina Street past the Marina and bear right onto Mason Street as you continue to Crissy Field.  The Warming Hut is at the end of the road.

We welcome newbies – you do not need to be a member to join GGRC for a few runs to determine if the club is a good fit for your running needs.
