A big focus for GGRC in 2017 is to give back – especially to the running community. What better way to kick it off than at one of GGRC’s favorite events – manning (and womanning) an aid station at the Kaiser Half Marathon! And we want to get as many GGRC members to volunteer as we can!
Where: Great Highway & Noriega (ish)
When: Sunday Feb 5th (Super Bowl Sunday!) 7AM – 11AM
Who: at least 30 super-cool volunteers to help and cheer during the event
Why (do it): Because it’s a nice thing to do. And you will get to see all the runners (most notably our GGRC participants) pass us TWICE on the course. Plus it’s fun! Costumes encouraged.
What (do you get out of it): Aside from the warm, fuzzy feeling of being a stellar human being – you will get a Kaiser shirt (first 30 to sign up) for participating, as well as delicious breakfast foods and drinks during the event.
How to sign up: Visit the Google Group for a link to the sign-up sheet, or email Prez Sam for more info.
Welcome to the first GGRC happy hour of 2017! The venue features 20+ taps encased in a replica WWII torpedo, a full bar, and great food (oysters, soft pretzels, and much more). GGRC has a communal table reserved for the evening, and we hope to see everyone there. Newbies welcome!
