We Live Here, We Run Here

Officially established in 2001, our club has members in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s who like to run hard and play hard. We are united by our enthusiasm for running, and we invite both novices and experienced athletes to join us. But more importantly, we love the friendships that we've made and the great times that we've had running in SF and across the state.

Announcing the Spring Banquet, 2016 Edition

Spring Banquet

Are you ready for an evening out on the town with the most charming, attractive, and athletic people you know? Bad news: those people weren’t available. But … what about an evening with the drinking-est, running-est and spandex-clad-iest people you know? That we can do!

Join us in enjoying awkward dance moves, well cocktails, weird awards, and Chris Latura’s bell-bottom pants on Saturday, April 23. This year’s banquet will be held at Mercer. The party starts at 8pm, and it goes until our livers quit – or, 2am (whichever comes first).
You might say that evening is priceless. You might say you would pay up to $65 dollars for a night like this … and in fact, last year you did!  But this year’s banquet comes to you for the low, low one-time payment of just $24.99*. Click here to purchase your tickets – and act now: prices rise to $30 come April 1st.
But wait …
There’s more!
When you buy your ticket to the 2016 GGRC Spring Banquet, not only do you get access to the time of your life but you’ll also get two (not one, but TWO!) complimentary drinks, plus late-night pizza at the venue. How could you turn down such a fabulous offer? This stuff sells itself!
But seriously, here are the deets:
What: GGRC Spring Banquet
When: Saturday, April 23 8pm – Sunday, April 24 2am
Where: Mercer
Who: You, and whoever you want to bring
Why: Because we’re awesome
Tickets*: $25 in March, $30 in April – get them here
What’s included: Besides the best night ever? Your first 2 drinks, late night pizza, and dancing ’till 2am (note: dinner will not be served – at least, not at dinner time!)

FRESH MEAT (Join us for the Newbie BBQ)

Spring is in the air. We’re ready to throw down with some barbecue – and our burgers aren’t the only thing that’s fresh …
It’s time to haze welcome this year’s newest GGRC members by doing the things we do best: running, followed by eating and drinking (all we’re missing is costumes; feel free to add your own). If you know anyone looking to join or new to the club, this is the perfect event for them to get to know us a little better.
Where: Picnic tables in the grassy area outside the Warming Hut Cafe – look for the GGRC tent/banner
When: Sunday, March 27 (Yes, this is Easter Sunday … and yes, there will be sweet treats)
What: Regular Sunday run (no drop!), followed by picnic/pot-luck fun
Who: GGRC members new, old, in-between and curious (that means everyone!)
We’ll supply the staples (burgers, sausages and grilling stuff); the rest is pot-luck style, so bring your favorite post-run treat (sides, desserts, drinks, and beer all count)!
And … to make room for new merchandise (think tear-away pants and the deepest of vee’s) we will be selling off old inventory at fire sale prices. So come ready to haggle your way into GGRC Hats, Singlets, Turbo Tee’s, and Hoodie’s. Fun for the whole family!

No Sunday Run on 2/14

Happy Valentine’s Day weekend!  We don’t have a Sunday run on 2/14, but you can spread the love by volunteering with us at the Kaiser Half Marathon (meet @ Pacheco and Great Highway between 7-8am). If you are running, we’ll see you there!
